History
The following is a brief history of JR East Rail Car Technology & Maintenance Co., Ltd. from its establishment to the present day.
(as of April 1, 2021)
The company changed its name from Kyosan Metal Industry Co., Ltd. to Nippon Rolling Stock Machinery Co., Ltd., and began to engage in business related to Japan National Railways.
Nippon Rolling Stock Machinery Co., Ltd. (capital: 10 million yen) was established to separate the division related to Japan National Railways.
The capital was increased to 40 million yen.
The capital was increased to 80 million yen.
In response to the establishment of various JR companies, the sales system of the division was reviewed, and some sales offices were consolidated or closed, and their jurisdiction was changed.
Along with the establishment of Tokai Rolling Stock & Machinery Co., Ltd., the operations of the Chubu Branch were transferred, followed by the transfer of employees and assets.
East Japan Railway Company acquired shares and became the largest shareholder.
The location of the main office was changed to Nishi-ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo.
The Saitama Office, Omiya Sales Office, and Oi Sales Office obtained certification under Quality Management System ISO 9001.
The company name was changed from Nippon Rolling Stock Machinery Co., Ltd. to East Japan Transport Technology Co., Ltd., aiming to be a comprehensive technology company for machinery, equipment, and rolling stock. The company became a consolidated subsidiary of East Japan Railway Company.
New installation and repair work of ticket vending machines were transferred to JR East Mechatronics Service Co., Ltd.
Certification under Quality Management System ISO 9001 was obtained company-wide.
The Tokyo Elevator Center, Omiya Sales Office, Oi Sales Office, and Saitama Factory obtained certification under the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OSHMS).
Certification under the Environmental Management System (Eco Action 21) was obtained.
As part of the reorganization of JR East Group companies, the machinery division was split into JR East Mechatronics Co., Ltd. to make a new start together with the rolling stock division of Niigata Rolling Stock Machinery Co., Ltd.
Certification under the Environmental Management System (Eco Action 21) was returned.
Certification under the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OSHMS) was returned.
As part of the integration of JR East Group companies, Tohoku Rolling Stock Machinery Co., Ltd. and East Japan Transport Technology Co., Ltd. made a new start under the name of JR East Rail Car Technology & Maintenance Co., Ltd.
At the same time, the capital was increased to 200 million yen.
The location of the main office was changed to Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo.
As part of the reorganization of JR East Group companies, the business related to the rolling stock manufacturing business of the Niitsu Office was split and transferred to Japan Transport Engineering Company. Accordingly, the Niitsu Office was closed.
